better late than never… ;-)

Lets see…Where do I start …. !?
It’s been a while since I have had time to sit down and blog…

One of my highlights the last two months was going  to San Diego on Jan 16th to another one of the Incredible Abraham Hick’s all day workshops.
WOW!  It was soooo GREAT!  I listen to his CD’s all the time…and love them!

Lou flew in from N.J. and we  spent the weekend there together. We took in and enjoyed some San Diego night life.  We went  downtown to a nice restaurant called “Croces”, and then went to a really cool upscale bar and lounge.  We spent the next day at La Jolla Beach.  We went shopping, had lunch, took a nice walk and enjoyed the beautiful scenery!  We had a great time.  It felt really nice to get some good “beach energy” and sunshine!

Living Life

We spent the next  week in L.A.  We had a wonderful time… ate in some great restaurants ..The “Ivy”, “Crustacion”, “Urth cafe” , and of course my favorite –  “Real Food Daily” — and also went to our favorite clothing store — “True Religion”.  We love their jeans!

And of course we had to go visit Tomas!  He is seriously the BEST hair dresser I have ever had!  He is at “Byron Williams” in Beverly Hills ..if you want a great haircut!

Next we were off to Vegas for a few days ..and I had a great  photo shoot with John Copeland at LasVegasStudios.  It was long overdue.  Now that my hair is longer, I really wanted to update my photos!

Here are some of my favorites from the shoot:

Photos from my Photoshoot

While I was in Vegas I had a nice night out  for dinner and drinks with Doyle and Ken Hale ..We had a good time!

Then I stayed in town to go to a Music Video taping with my friends rock n roll band “Ascended Masters”.. It was a lot of fun!   …and you have to check out “Coaches Corner “.. Very inspirational and entertaining!  U will love it!

I have also been busy helping my daughter Shannon get settled in her new apartment! I am very happy for her!

One night I was in need of some laughs… I was having a rough day and I had the pleasure of going out to dinner with Brad Garrett and a female friend of his … We cracked up laughing the whole time .. It was so much fun and just what I needed! She was really funny too!  What a treat!

The first 3 weeks in Feb. I played hard and did great.  The only tournament I played in during  the “LAPC “was the 1,000 buy-in Ladies.  it was a “WPT” event this year, so I decided to play.  I made it down around 26 players.  It was fun.  Pam Brunson and a lot of  other ladies were there.  I really enjoyed seeing and catching up with them. I really prefer playing in LIVE cash games, especially at the Commerce.  The 100-200 stud games are so GOOD!  I also played in the Pro/Celebrity Tournament 150,000 Free-roll event. My first table was a lot of fun, Ricki Lake, Matty (former baseball player for the Mets) and Oliver Hudson (Actor) were at my table.  We had a good time!  I was doing well and then our table broke up! and wouldn’t you know, at the next table I never won a pot!  Oh well…it was really just for fun!

February March Photos

Congrat’s to Phil Ivy  winning the Commerce WPT  10k event! He can do it… He is definitely the BEST !

I was doing great in cash games… and then I lost focus.  So for the past week or so, I am taking time off.  Re-centering myself and getting ready  for the Bay 101 Shooting Star, WPT  10k event on Tues 11th!  This is one of my favorite events .. The fans up there are incredible ! its a lot of fun being a bounty !

Almost forgot! Debbie Ford’s new book is incredible …

“Why Good People Do Bad Things ….. how to stop being your own worst enemy…”

check out her Youtube videos here… or go to her website

I also think everyone should check out “The Moses Code”
This movie is coming out in April 2008 .. and is by author of “The SECRET”

OK… that is all for now! :-)

Fun times in A.C. and Philly! (but a sad event for us all)

Well its been AT LEAST 6 weeks since I last blogged…
So much has happened in that time I really don’t know were to start!
Photo of Dad I will try to sum it up the best I can!

I was in Vegas for Thanksgiving to see my Dad…. and then flew to L.A . for a day.
Then I decided to go to Atlantic City again. I was only planning on staying for about 10 days! LOL!!!

To make a long story short, I stayed for a whole wonderful MONTH!

The first weekend there, the poker was a little slow… got off to a GREAT start and then finished not so good. So I stayed. During the week there is no poker so it gave me a chance to meet with friends in Philly. It was snowing all the way there. It was fun to see and be in the snow. I met my friend Tara and we went to some of our old stomping grounds…

With Denny Waxman We started out at “Essences Natural Food Market and Café” We had a great healthy lunch there and then we went to our appointment with Denny Waxman. His website is:  http://www.strengthenhealth.org/ He is a macrobiotic Counselor. We had a 9 star KI reading (which is a form of Chinese Astrology) and he just published his new book: “Great Life Diet” What a great book! (I will start carrying it in my store)

After our reading, we went to the ”Garland of Letters” metaphysical book store on South street… I got a new Crystal necklace there… I love it!  Philly is a great city. It has a very unique energy about it! We stopped at a park in the middle of the city and the energy of winter with that of the city made for a special experience!

winter shopping Brenda and KC

After that we meet Brenda and K.C. (great friends for years!) for dinner at a wonderful Vegan restaurant, “Horizons”.  It is always great spending time with them!

I got the phone call early the next morning that Chip Reese had passed. I was in total SHOCK! Wow… I just couldn’t believe it!  Chip is one of the classiest and best poker players ever! Chip Reese - No longer with Ever since I started playing poker — over 20 years ago — whenever I was asked “who is your favorite player?”…. I always said “Chip”. Last year when we were working on the Professional Poker League together I got to know him even better. I had the opportunity to spend more time with him.  I was able to see how important his family life was to him, and how much he loved his littleYorkie dogs!  He will be greatly missed!  this is so SAD!
I wanted so much to go to the funeral, but I was already committed here in A.C.  My thoughts and prayers were there.

Here are some photos of my good friend Chip Reese:

We will all miss you Chip.

I was feeling a little bit in a funk… so I went out to my FAVORITE clothing boutique “Sandra and Roy’s” I went there just around closing time and they invited me to meet them for dinner and drinks… I said “Perfect! that’s exactly what I want to do tonight!… get a little loose and have a few drinks!”  I really needed something to get my energy back up. They asked me if they could invite a good friend of theirs to meet us… His name was Lou and he had just coincidentally called the store while I was there) I said sure!  We went out to “Steve and Cookie’s” a really nice restaurant in Margate and Lou and I hit it off immediately!

Photo with Sandra! Photo of Roy and Lou

We had a great time!  Thank you,  Sandra and Roy!

I decided not to go the Bellagio tournament 15K event this week in Vegas, (I placed 14th in it last year, so it was very tempting).  Instead, I played in the Taj Mahal 5 K main event on Thursday.  There was only 15 players!  No Good… Lost with pocket QQs against A 10 off suit….

Poker with Dave! Winning one!

I decided to play in the 5K Harrah’s Circuit event on Sunday. They had 279 players.  Montel Williams was at my table.  That was cool!  I also got see my good friends Robert Williamson and his wife Kate .  I managed to pick up pocket Aces (the only hand I played) and pocket 10s flopped a set on me!  I was out early!

My new friend, Lou met me and we went out for another fun day!  We went to the Tropicana were my friend Mellisa Marshall was singing (she used to play at all my parties)

Bad Photo of Melissa singing With Melissa

We had a blast…great seeing her again, with her fiancé, Bob. After that, we all went out to my favorite restaurant in A.C. — “Geraosales” — for a wonderful dinner!

DesiI also visited my good friend Desi, in Absecon, and he shared with me his adventures from his recent trip to China.

Next came another weekend of poker….. this one went good!
played 150-300 stud with Norman all weekend,  no one around for 400-800!

I think that about covers the last 6 weeks!
I’m sure I am forgetting some of the great things and wonderful people I saw.  It was a super time there.  It took me FOREVER to pack up my room…. I had really settled in!

I finally flew out to Vegas on Xmas day!
Wow! what a TRIP!

I wish everyone Happy Holidays!  Peace, Love, and Light! and a super 2008!

Happy Holidays

I was  also invited to  be part of shooting a pilot (or a demo?)  for a New TV  show called “House of Hustle” It sounds like a great idea.  Sean “Sheakie ” and Yancey  Arias are producing it.  I decided not to do it though as the timing was just  not right for me!  The Official Yancey Arias Website: yanceyarias.com

Then I went up to Santa Barbara to a “Health Classics” Retreat.  They produce health, wellness and physician seminars and also sell high quality cookware including stainless steel cookware at low prices: healthclassics.com/
Photo of David Briscoe Larry Copper arranges them every year and always does such a great job!  It’s usually a 3 or 4 day event.  Many of the best macrobiotic teachers and holistic doctors are there and give great lectures.  I also enjoy the hikes,  yoga, cooking classes  etc.
There is also of course, the GREAT Food!  Everyday!  It is always a wonderful time!  Unfortunately I was only there for the last day this year. I got there just in time to go to one of David Briscoe’s lectures, and then for the closing ceremony !

Borgata, Taj, Florida, …going with the flow…

Wow!  What a trip I just had! It was very successful … in many ways!
It was wonderful seeing old friends and of course playing with my poker player friends. The weather was really nice too.

)Photo of The BorgataI really enjoyed playing at the Borgata and the Taj while winning every play! (in the cash game , I played 150-300 stud and 300-600 and 400-800 2 games 7 stud high and 7 stud eight or better! Perfect games for me! In the  Borgata(10,000 event) I made it to the 2nd day …Twan Lee was running over our table and I was card dead and in The Taj 10,000 event I also made it to day 2.  Nothing too exciting happened, except I did have a really fun table.  I went out with pocket 88s against AQ off suit, Queen came right on the flop!

I even took action on creating a very exciting  business venture while I was out there , which I am really, REALLY! excited about!  I’ll talk more on that later once the details are all worked out.

Since I was already on the East Coast, I decided to extend my trip and go see my Life Coach, Alisha, in Fort Lauderdale.

Lunch with Alisha

We always do phone sessions so it was really nice being with her in person.  She took me to all the “hot spots” …. some  great Vegan Organic restaurants that is!
Then on Tuesday I went to another  “James Ray Event” in Miami.  I always enjoy being in his energy!

While I was waiting to get in, I met a photographer Hector Gomez.  We  talked a little and then he offered to do a photo shoot with me on the beach the next day.  I said sure why not!   It went great. I had so much fun and I loved playing in the ocean with the warm salt water and the sun shining!

Photoshoot with Hector Gomez

I am really glad I decided to go to Florida I had  such a great time there!

I’m writing this on the plane going back to Las  Vegas to see my Dad.  I’ll probably drive back to L.A in a couple of days.  I have been gone for 3 weeks now! …on a trip that I went on the spur of the moment the day before The Borgata main event began.  That was on the 16th of September!  I was only going for a few days … I just went with the flow after the tournaments… and I’m glad I did!
